Espresso Themes has just launched two new child themes for Event Espresso 4, bringing the total to four WordPress Child Themes in one month. These same child themes have been in use on Event Smart for over two years and have become very popular amongst event organizers on the platform. However, the theme needed a few minor features added, such as theme updates and code optimizations.
“What’s special about these child themes?”, You are probably asking yourself. Well, these child themes are specially optimized for Event Espresso 4 to show the event dates, instead of the post dates and to show event categories and event archives with the event-related titles and on-page optimizations.

About Espresso Themes
Following the call for WordPress event theme developers, Espresso Themes was founded in October 2017 by the team at Event Smart to provide users of their WordPress event ticketing plugin, Event Espresso, with a set of beautiful looking WordPress child themes. The child themes provided here are based on a selection of original WordPress Themes, which Event Smart users currently have access to, on the Event Espresso and WordPress powered platform. Seeing as how the team behind Event Smart uses Event Espresso to power its system, they set out to provide Event Espresso customers with access to these same excellent child themes because they want their users to have the best possible experience when using their event plugin.

About Event Smart
Powered by Event Espresso and WordPress, Event Smart is a free event registration and ticketing service, which allows event organizers the flexibility of having their own event website on the cloud. Staying true the foundations of their event plugin for WordPress, the team behind Event Smart doesn’t believe in charging for selling tickets on their platform. Event organizers on the Event Smart Software as a Service platform only pay for the features they need or want, rather than paying for everything they don’t need.
About Event Espresso
Originally developed and launched in 2009 on WordPress.org, Event Espresso is listed as one of the top Event Calendar and Ticketing plugins for WordPress. Just like WordPress, Event Espresso is an open source solution for event registration and ticketing, which now powers upwards of 70,000 event ticketing websites. So, if you are an event manager using the WordPress platform, you should know that Event Espresso is capable of powering all of the event registration and ticketing aspects of your WordPress event website.
Summary
It’s nice to see new child themes on the market for Event Espresso, as I think it will help give developers an idea of what’s possible with Event Espresso, as well as give Event Espresso users access to themes that are optimized for displaying events, without having to hack apart files or struggle with customizing themes to remove extraneous metadata.
